Latasha Phillips looks at a life size cardboard cutout of her son, Anthony West. Anthony was shot and killed when he was 16 years old. He loved to play football, it was his passion. He played under Coach Corey at Herbert Hoover Boys and Girls Club. Latasha believes if Anthony were still alive today he'd be playing in the NFL.

A reflection of a cardboard cutout of Latasha Phillips’ son, Anthony West, is seen in her sunglasses. Latasha was extremely dedicated to Anthony. She was his number one fan, never missing a sporting event, and always there
to support him. She remembers him always smiling, joking, and joning with his friends, who were incredibly
important to him.

Latasha Phillips stands with her other children looking at a cardboard cutout of her son, Anthony West. Anthony was
just 16 when he was shot and killed in the St. Louis suburb of Berkeley. This puts him among the large number of
teens and children in the US, and St. Louis specifically, that are impacted by gun violence. Gun violence is the
number one cause of death of children and teens in this country, and Children's Hospital of St. Louis sees a much
higher rate of these injuries and deaths than other US children's hospitals.
