Phyllis Adams holds photos of her son Ezell Walker Jr, while wearing necklace with a photo of him inside of a heart. Ezell was shot and killed by someone who he thought was a friend when he was 20 years old. He is remembered for many athletic achievements, but one of the things Phyllis cherishes most about him is how much he loved everyone
who was close to him. She says he didn't just love, he loved hard. Her and him were very close, and she said he always knew how to make her sad days better.

Phyllis Adams stands on the field at Wohl Recreation Center where her son Ezell Walker Jr., played football as a
young child. In addition to being an accomplished athlete, Ezell loved music, and wrote and performed his own
songs. One of the things Phyllis does to help her cope with his death is listen to his music, and watch videos of him performing. She said it is like hearing his voice again, and brings her peace of mind.

Phyllis Adams holds a frame displaying medals won by her only son, Ezell Walker Jr., who was shot and killed on
April 22nd, 2015. Ezell was extremely athletic and excelled in all of the sports he participated in. This included, football, basketball, and boxing. Like many other Mothers, since her son’s death, Phyllis has found hope and
community in others who have lost a child to gun violence, or similar tragic circumstances.
